​The Feminine Thread is a research-led, story-rich purpose project that uncovers and shares the untold influence and presence of the Feminine in Heritage.

 

Rather than celebrating only prominent figures or architectural status in our shared Historic Environment, it documents the feminine presence in historic buildings and places; all so often this being an invisible thread.

 

This Feminine weaves greater significance; offering a deeper connection to bring a balanced understanding of our shared past, it is composed of intuition, care, community and beauty; silently embedded and under current methods of recording often undocumented and unweighted in decision making and constructive conservation.

 

The Feminine Thread reveals untold stories, including those of hierarchy and resilience, what it can also show us is not simply prolific females of high-status historic buildings and places, more commonly what is intriguing is us walking in the footsteps of all who went before.
